Following several years of outdoor work in centres and schools, I am currently living in Aberdeen where I work as a Duty Manager within a youth development charity.

Having taught Religious Moral & Philosophical Studies and Outdoor Education in schools, I am most interested in finding ways for young people to pause and reflect on their inner life – and outdoor experiences strike me as the best way to achieve this. I am extending my academic experience after a PGCE in Outdoor Education & Religious Education, and currently work as a Research Assistant for Expedition Research / Liverpool John Moores University.

In the past I have briefly served as a junior officer in the Royal Artillery, and taught in Wales and South Africa. I am qualified as a Winter Mountain Leader & SPA, and am a trainee member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors. Significant expedition leadership experience includes Southern Greenland, Malaysia, Alps and New Mexico, and 10 years of Duke of Edinburgh's Award and similar expeditions throughout the UK. My personal interests include climbing, ski touring and fell running.
